2017 Subaru Impreza stands a head above the rest, on the new Subaru Global Platform

The upcoming 2017 Subaru Impreza is built on the new Subaru Global Platform, and it promises to be a more rigid and powerful car.

This sedan is lower and wider than the outgoing model for a more menacing mugshot. Its headlights are longer and narrower as well, which makes for a pretty withering stare. Strong characters line accentuate the Impreza's newfound curves -- but enough about style. What about the substance?

The Impreza boasts fresh infotainment features, for one, as well as increased horsepower, an improved continuously variable transmission and, of course, that classic Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive as standard. Adaptive headlights are also newly available as is more cargo space in the hatchback variant. And to top it all off, the 2017 Impreza is now the most inexpensive Subaru to offer Subaru EyeSight® driver assistance technologies.
