The prestigious Pet Hero Award promotes public awareness of the causes that protect our animals. The award recognizes individuals, associations, professionals, pets and business organization that demonstrate a commitment to improving and protecting animal lives. Subaru was recognized as an Outstanding Corporation.

Why does an automobile manufacturer support animal welfare initiatives?
Excellent question and easily answered!

Subaru drives their customers' passions and one of those passions is pet parenting. 7 out of 10

Subaru owners have an animal in their household. To support their customers, Subaru, along with their network of over 600 dealers, have conducted hundreds of pet adoptions at their dealerships.

Subaru also sponsors and participates in many national, large-scale events. These sponsorships

have helped find loving homes for thousands of animals in need through the brand's "Subaru Love

A Pet" initiative. Their partnerships with several dedicated and highly regarded animal welfare

organizations help share the call to action for animals in need.

Subaru has been a proud partner of the American

Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) since 2009. Subaru has donated numerous  invaluable vehicles that are used to serve ASPCA and their partner communities and are used to save animal lives across the United States. Subaru sponsors the ASPCA spay/neuter initiative and coordinates pet adoptions, pet ID tag programs, and food/toy drives for shelters. Countless numbers of homeless animals have been rescued due to the dedication of Subaru, its employees and dealerships.

Subaru is also a very proud and active partner of Pilots N Paws (PNP).  Pilots N Paws is a national organization of volunteer pilots.  Subaru has been supporting the efforts of PNP with the relocation of abandoned pets since 2010. Subaru's generous support often provides these pilots with hotel rooms, transport to and from the airport in Subaru vehicles, catering services, and pet goodies for pilots to offer on their critical "Make a Flight Save a Life" rescue missions across the United States.

Subaru joined PetFest in its inaugural year in 2012 and is now the "Official PetFest Vehicle". The Subaru Love a Pet Outback, wrapped with the ASPCA, Pilots N Paws and PetFest logos serves as a billboard promoting PetFest.  Subaru's support helps PetFest's participating rescue organizations in achieving our mutual mission of improving the standards of animals in need.
