Boston, MA (July 9, 2013) -- (SubieEvents,
LLC) - Wicked Big Meet, in its 8th year, nearly doubles attendance and
continues the growth that has made it one of the most successful
automotive event dynasties in recent history. On June 9th, Subaru
enthusiasts gathered for the 3rd year in a row at Stafford Motor
Speedway, to shop, drive, learn, and hangout with over 4,000 thousand
other Subaru enthusiasts from across the country. Parked together these
2,200 cars represent nearly 10 acres of cars. Wicked Big Meet also
extended its reach online with over 10,000 Facebook likes. These record
car and fan numbers continue to upholding the title as the Largest
Subaru Enthusiast Festival in America.
Event director, Robert
Champion, of SubieEvents, LLC said, "While seeing over a thousand more
excited enthusiasts come to WBM is impressive, the most important
takeaway for the WBM team is realizing that this is no longer the
gathering it once was at Nashoba Valley. A lot of our old systems just
don't work for an event of this size. That being said, we're already
dedicated to putting 100% of our energy towards improving and
reinventing the event experience at WBM 2014. The Subaru enthusiast
crowd is the best, and that's exactly what it deserves."
As an enthusiast driven and
sponsor fueled event, Wicked Big Meet 2013 welcomed over 50 premier
automotive aftermarket and Subaru specific companies from across the
country. Presenting sponsor, Subaru of New England, displayed the newest
Subaru models. Ken Scanzio of Subaru of New England said, "It's a
pleasure for us at Subaru of New England and our dealers to have such a
close connection with our most passionate enthusiasts - it's something
that not a lot of brands have. Wicked Big Meet gives us a chance to say
"hi," shake hands and lend some support to the very people that we
consider our brand ambassadors. We'll be here every year!"
Each year, Wicked Big Meet
provides key facetime for current and existing customers and affords
brands the kind of interaction that makes for long term customer
loyalty. Over $20,000 in product and merchandise were given away by
vendors during Wicked Big Meet. Justin Opotzner of JNA Performance said,
"Wicked Big Meet 2013 was a huge success all around. We've been a WBM
vendor for the past 6 years and this by far was one of my personal
favorites. The WBM staff did an outstanding job planning and executing
this year's event. WBM gives us an opportunity to have face-to-face
interaction with new and existing clients from all over the US. It's
incredible to see so many Subaru enthusiasts come together sharing one
passion. We greatly appreciate everyone's support and business. We hope
you all enjoyed Wicked Big Meet and our JNA Performance Booth this
year."
As
the 3rd Wicked Big Meet in a row at Stafford Motor Speedway, the event
held its own high performance driving event. As the inaugural driving
event for WBM, an autocross was selected as a format that allowed the
greatest number of drivers to "test their metal" against the clock and
their friends. The overwhelming popularity of the autocross, has made
event director Robert Champion enthusiastic for next year. "We had never
run our own driving event until this year, and given the popularity and
excitement provided for everyone involved, we are committed to making
this an increasingly important part of Wicked Big Meet for years to
come." Top honors overall and in the Turbo Stock Class went to Joshua
Noble in a 2007 Subaru STI. After an event long battle, Noble narrowly
bested the top BRZ Class time posted by Caleb Rocock. Eugen Torres took
the very competitive Turbo Prepared Class. Raul Mora took the Non-Turbo
Class. Full autocross results and details of each class can be found
here: http://www.wickedbigmeet.com/drive. Winners received a plaque and
prize pack from Subaru of New England that including a Subaru Rally Team
USA Folding Chair, SRT USA Rocky Rolling Cooler, and SRT USA Windpro
Umbrella!

sponsors, SubieEvents, LLC turns focus to the Big Northwest Subaru Meet
