The dust has settled after a fierce day of racing at the 2013 New England Forest Rally. Despite winning six of nine stages today, David Higgins and Craig Drew were unable to catch Block. With less than seven seconds separating the two after covering over a hundred competitive stage miles, it was a frustrating, yet still successful day for SRT USA. At the finish in Sunday River, David and Craig were clearly disappointed and Craig made it clear that "We're not happy unless we win!" However, SRT USA continues to lead the 2013 Rally America Championship and their Subaru WRX STI performed flawlessly all day over some of the roughest rally roads seen in North America. The weather conditions were dry and sunny with temperatures in the low 70's which made for perfect spectating. There was some dust, but a steady breeze kept it from becoming a major issue.
Next up in the Rally America Series is the Ojibwe Forests Rally based in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. It's been off the national schedule for the past few years, but the scenic and fast Ojibwe roads are a welcome addition. With the 2013 Rally America National Championship still undecided, you can be sure David Higgins and Craig Drew will go flat out when they arrive in Minnesota next month!
