
SUBARU STAMFORD DELIVERS SUBARU OF AMERICA, INC. DONATION TO LOCAL CHARITY THE FOOD BANK OF LOWER FAIRFIELD COUNTY AS PART OF 2014 SUBARU "SHARE THE LOVE" EVENT
Stamford,
CT, March 26, 2015 - Subaru of America, Inc. ("SOA") and Subaru
Stamford will present a check to The Food Bank of Lower Fairfield
County who was a local partner in the 2014 Subaru "Share the Love"
event.
From
Nov. 20, 2014 to Jan. 2, 2015, customers who purchased or leased a
new Subaru vehicle could select from a list of charities to receive a
donation of $250 from SOA. This year, Subaru of America, Inc.
donated $15 million to participating charities. Over the last seven
years SOA has donated $50 million to a number of worthy causes
through the "Share the Love" event.
SOA
selected the four national charities: ASPCA®,
Make-A-Wish®, Meals On Wheels Association of America®, and National
Park Foundation. Subaru retailers could also elect to add a fifth,
local charity and Subaru
Stamford selected
The Food Bank of
Lower Fairfield County as
its local partner.
The
check for $42,731.00
will be presented to The Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County by
George D'Angelo, General Manager and Dealer Principal, Subaru
Stamford.
"I'm proud over the outpouring of support our customers showed for our local charity", said Mr. D'Angelo, "Subaru customers tend to be generous and caring of their community, and this certainly proves it. We at Subaru Stamford are grateful for the opportunity to give something back to the place where we work and live."
"The $42,731.00 will be used to support The Food Bank's mission of providing nutritious food to more than 83 non-profit member agencies in lower Fairfield County that feed over 150,000 individuals who are at or below H.U.D.'s low income limit," said Kate Lombardo, Executive Director, The Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County, Inc., "Last year we distributed 2,563,071 pounds of food to our member agencies at a cost savings of over three million dollars over the wholesale cost of the food. The funds provided by Subaru will definitely help those in need."
The check presentation will take place at Subaru Stamford, 198 Baxter Ave., Stamford, Connecticut at eleven AM. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.
