A Preview of the 2026 Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid
Subaru is going to be launching a new Crosstrek Hybrid that will be classified as a 2026 model and it's expected to be available some time in 2025. This subcompact SUV will come with the same hybrid powertrain as the Forester Hybrid and it will look only slightly different from the standard gasoline version of the Crosstrek. The Crosstrek Hybrid will give you Subaru-style off-road capability thanks to its 8.7 inches of ground clearance.
Performance
The hybrid configuration in the Crosstrek is described as a series-parallel system that can switch between the engine and the electric motor to power the wheels based on the driving situation. Fuel economy estimates are still to come but it's likely that the Crosstrek Hybrid will give you about 20% better efficiency than the gas-powered version. The hybrid Crosstrek will also include the extra traction of Subaru's patented Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system.
Technology
The all-new 2026 Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid will come with a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster that provides driver data. It will also have an 11.6-inch infotainment touchscreen powered by Subaru's Starlink software with wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration. Bluetooth connectivity will be part the AM/FM/satellite radio system and it will be capable of over-the-air updates.
Trim levels
Official details haven't been announced, but industry experts anticipate that the Crosstrek Hybrid will come with the same trim levels as the gas-powered Crosstrek: Premium, Sport and Limited.
