Previously, if you needed to transport over five passengers, you couldn't shop for a Subaru. But the brand is breaking barriers for the 2018 model year by welcoming an all-new, three-row crossover SUV called the Subaru Ascent.

The upcoming Ascent measures at 17 feet long, making it the longest vehicle Subaru has ever created. It seats up to eight in its spacious and versatile cabin built on the new Subaru Global Platform, an architecture that debuted on the popular 2017 Impreza. From what Subaru has shown, the Ascent is clad in plenty of soft-touch, delicately-stitched materials and star-studded in plenty of fancy features. We're eager to meet the real deal at the Subaru Stamford showroom in the not-too-distant future.

You can get a good look at the soon-to-be Ascent via the video below, which offers Cars.comœ's first impressions of the Ascent concept at the New York Auto Show. With all of the new and exciting things happening at Subaru -- for the fully redesigned 2017 Impreza to the premier 2018 Ascent -- we'd say there's never been a better time to buy a new Subaru in Stamford.
