This year Subaru Stamford customers will have the choice of donating locally:

The Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County, Inc., a fully recognized I.R.C. 501 (c) (3) charity, is lower Fairfield County's primary hunger-relief organization, providing food to more than 85 non-profit agencies and programs that serve low income people in our six town service area through bags of groceries and congregate meals. These include soup kitchens, food pantries, child care programs, homeless shelters, senior centers, domestic violence safe houses, and rehabilitation programs.

During 2012, The Food Bank distributed 2,047,653 pounds of food to its member agencies at a savings to them of more than $3.2 million over the wholesale cost of the food. These agencies reported serving over 4 million meals to 162,854 individuals (unduplicated only within each agency) during this period.

Or to one of the four national organizations selected by Subaru:

ASPCA
The ASPCA¨ has been the voice for animals for 147 years, providing relief, care and service to those in need. Whether it's rescuing animals from abuse, introducing and enforcing more humane legislation or supporting shelters in communities across the country, each donation furthers efforts to help animals live better lives.

Make-A-Wish

When kids with life-threatening medical conditions are granted their one true wish, they get the strength to keep fighting. Their families come together. And lives get better for everyone involved. Help Make-A-Wish® grant wishes for kids in your community.

Meals On Wheels Association of America

Meals On Wheels Association of America¨ provides national leadership to end senior hunger, supporting local Meals On Wheels programs that collectively serve over one million nutritious meals a day to seniors in need. Each donation helps deliver nutritious meals and friendly visits to our nation's elderly teachers, workers, doctors and veterans.

National Park Foundation
The National Park Foundation, in partnership with the National Park Service, enriches America's national parks and programs through private support, safeguarding our heritage and inspiring generations of national park enthusiasts.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I select the charity or charities I want to receive the donation?

You can make your charity selection by filling out a self-addressed, prepaid envelope provided by Subaru Stamford, online at subaru.com/share, by calling 1-800-SUBARU3. You will be asked to provide your name, contact information, Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and charity selection. Subaru will then make the donation on your behalf. Visit www.subaru.com/share to learn more about the program, and participating charities, or ask your Subaru Stamford sales representative.

What if I want to split the donation (i.e. select more than one charity) or vote more than once?

Each customer who has purchased or leased a new Subaru (2014 or 2015) can either allocate the $250 donation to one charity, or split it amongst any number of participating charities. Only one donation (of $250) is made per vehicle sale or lease.

How long do I have to make the charity selection?

While we encourage customers to make their charity selection at Subaru Stamford at the time of purchase, selections will be accepted through January 31, 2014.

I bought a car, but forgot to submit my charity selection. Where does the money go?

For those who do not make their charity selection by January 31, 2014, Subaru will distribute the donation evenly among the five national charities.

How will I know that the donation was made?

You will receive a "thank you" letter from Subaru and the charities that received your donation once all of the submissions have been processed. Customers who do not make their charity selection by January 31, 2014 will receive a letter from Subaru thanking them for their purchase.

By what date will Subaru make the donations to each charity? How much money is expected to be donated?

Subaru will make the donation to each charity by March 1, 2014. During last year's "Share the Love" event, Subaru donated $5 million, and Subaru is hoping to donate up to $10 million this year. Over the past four years of the event, $25 million have been donated.

Do I get a tax credit for this donation?

Because the donation is being made by Subaru to each of the participating charities, donations are not tax-deductible to purchasers.

Why do some retailers have 5 charity options and others have 6 charity options?

This year, Subaru of America offered the retailer community an optional opportunity to select a sixth charity, local to their community, to join the national five charities in the "Share the Love" event. While some retailers are participating in this option, others chose to participate solely with the five nationals charities. Subaru Stamford has chosen to participate locally.

*Subaru will donate $250 for every new Subaru vehicle sold or leased from November 21, 2013 through January 2, 2014 to five national charities designated by the purchaser or lessee, up to 10 million total. A pre-approved local sixth charity, The Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County, has been selected for optional donations by customers of Subaru Stamford. Purchasers/lessees must make their charity designations by January 31, 2014. The five national charities will receive a guaranteed minimum donation of $250,000 each.
