Supporting Stamford Students In the Classroom

With the help of Subaru Stamford and hundreds of other Subaru retailers nationwide, the Subaru Loves Learning initiative has supported millions of students. By partnering with AdoptAClassroom.org, Subaru is able to support 114,000 students nationwide this school year.

As the school year begins, Subaru Stamford wants to make sure our local teachers and students at Hart Magnet Elementary School have the school supplies and resources needed to succeed in the classroom. This funding is necessary to help young Stamford students learn and grow as they're educated.

It's estimated that 10 percent of classrooms have students whose families cannot afford school supplies. Nearly every teacher purchases school supplies so their students don't go without the necessities. Most teachers spend $750 a year on school supplies. The funding from Subaru Loves Learning and Adopt A Classroom provides the teachers with the supplies they need, when they need them.

The Subaru Loves Learning initiative and Adopt A Classroom provide an easy-to-use fundraising platform that's flexible and accountable for educators at schools like Hart Magnet Elementary School. The following steps get supplies into the hands of young students:

  1. Educators create a fundraising page or apply for a grant.
  2. Donors like Subaru Stamford and other Greenwich or Norwalk families give to a specific classroom or school.
  3. Educators in Stamford at Hart Magnet Elementary School immediately order the items they need.
  4. Donors receive updates about the impact they made on students in the classroom.
